award winning framers
Founded in 1993 The Eagle Gallery has many years of professional framing experience. We undertake all types of framing and specialise in sports items as it is well suited to our creative style.
All our work follows Fine Art Trade Guild Standards, normally working to conservation level 4, we also work to the highest quality, museum level 5 for the ultimate in preservation and reversability. We only use conservation and museum quality mountboard and on items of any value, financial or sentimental, we fit a UV filtering glass as standard.
We enjoy our work and want to make the most of your framing, you can be sure of a friendly, relaxed welcome where we will be happy to discuss the various options available. Advice and quotations are free and without obligation.
Below is a small sample of the different types of framing that we do. Popular themes are shown on their own pages including sports, shirts, music and the services - military, police and fire brigade.
You don't always have to use a single plain mount, with the right colours and style the mount can be enhanced to focus and keep attention on the image. Here two sets of double mounts have been used, a warm cream on top and light blue below. The top mounts also have a pink core giving a further subtle hint of colour.
This piece, cut from leather is over 2.2m, 7 feet, long. It has been mounted using many individual stitches to secure it to the mounting board. A spacer in the frames rebate has been used to keep the glass from touching the artwork.
A silver dagger recessed into a blue velvet material and curved spacer next to the frame covered in the same cloth.
Jumper and boots stitched to a backing board with a raised text box and spacer concealed behind the top mount to prevent the glass resting on the pieces being framed.
This is a holiday souvenir from a trip to Disney World. We hand carved a map of Florida in mountboard and placed the badges around that.
We have framed a number of jigsaws. Handling can be tricky, it can take 30 minutes to transfer them between boards, that's 1 min. to move and 29 to put the bits back.
Special handling was needed as this was made of parchment and not paper. The seals are wax in brass containers 30mm deep and have been sunk into the mount.
This limited edition print had an Indian theme and we tried to reflect this in the mount decoration which is a combination of machine and hand cutting.
Here is a framed image from a series we did for an American Publisher on a Native American theme. We used traditional patterns and decorations used in the pictures as the inspiration for the mount designs.
These limited edition prints from Venice have a double mount around each image, with the top mount having a hand coloured gold bevel. The top mount encloses the three single images to tie them all together, this also has a gold bevel.
